Architecture studio is a class in which students receive hands-on instruction in applying architectural design. 

 

Typically, architecture studio classes would include distinctive educational techniques that combines knowledge of design concept, environmental sciences and construction. Understanding of site context, social and cultural context must be demonstrated in allocated assignments. Students Assessments from both group and individual projects.

The complexity of projects increases with each semester.

This course outlines the fundamental systems regarding the technology used in the constructing buildings.

 

Knowledge of Building Technology encompasses; materials and their applications, their physical properties, capacities and vulnerabilities; the functioning of components and systems; the principles, procedures and details of building assembly; operating strategies will come handy in building design.

Projects and assignments in this course are also integrated with the Architectural Studio Design in each semester.

This course outlines the fundamental knowledge of the physics in the built environment.

 

This course also enhances students' scientific understanding of appreciating solar control and its influence on thermal performance. This course enables students to understand the climate variables that affect the thermal performance of buildings, their relationship to the comfort of building users, natural ventilation, bioclimatic principles, human comfort, and daylighting.
